Baklava
Walnut rolls made of puff pastry.
400 g of ready-made puff pastry,
1 cup finely chopped walnuts,
1 cup finely chopped almonds,
50 g icing sugar
0.5 teaspoon ground cinnamon,
50 g of butter.
Syrup:
200 g granulated sugar
3 teaspoons of lemon juice and orange water.
Preheat the oven to 180 ° C. Oil a baking sheet. In a wide bowl, mix walnuts, almonds, sugar and cinnamon. Roll out the dough in the shape of a rectangle with dimensions of 45x37.5 cm. Cut it into 18 parts with dimensions of 12.5x7.5 cm. Put a teaspoon of the nut mixture on the narrow end of each rectangle. Roll rolls with filling and place them on a baking sheet. In a small saucepan, melt the butter, pour them rolls and bake in the oven for 25-30 minutes until they become rosy and crispy. Cool for 15 minutes.
Pour 1.2 cups of water and lemon juice into the pan, add sugar there. Heat over moderate heat until sugar dissolves, then boil for 5 minutes until slightly thickened. Add orange water and pour the syrup rolls.
