Kataif Cake
1 cup wheat flour
1 cup of sugar
1 cup fat cream
2 eggs
2 tbsp. tablespoons butter
1 tbsp. powdered sugar
salt to taste
From eggs, salt and flour, prepare a fresh dough, roll it out and cut into small strips. Dry the resulting noodles in air, then fry in a moderately heated oven until golden brown. Pour melted butter, mix and warm in the oven.
Boil syrup from sugar and 1.5 cups of water. Pour the noodles with syrup and put in the oven again. When the noodles soak up all the syrup, shift it into a mold and cool.
Cut the cake into small squares, put on a dish and decorate with cream, whipped with icing sugar.
