Thai cuisine

Which cuisine is the most delicious, most varied and original? French? Maybe. But only a person who has never tried Thai food in his life can say so. Today Thai cooking is one of the most famous in the world.

Thai cuisine has absorbed the traditions of the West and East - India, China, the Portuguese. Thais with their characteristic enterprise and imagination are able to choose the best and give it their own flavor. For example, the tradition of using hot chili peppers arose in Thailand when Portuguese missionaries arrived who were addicted to pepper in South America. And the recipe for Thai barbecue, "satay", one of the most democratic dishes of modern Thai cuisine, is generally only a hundred years old - it was brought from his travels by King Chulalongkorn.

As is typical of many oriental cuisines, Thai cuisine skillfully combines sour and sweet, bitter and salty. Therefore, you will be served fresh rice with hot curry.

The favorable climate of Thailand allows you to get two or three crops annually, so there is not even the word "hunger". Fish and meat, seafood, fruits and vegetables, rice and noodles - the choice is huge. A huge amount of spices is used here (10 types of hot pepper alone), which give the food unexpected and delicious flavors. If you find yourself in Thailand, do not forget to ask to cook the dish not very spicy, local ideas about spiciness are very different from European ones. Another favorite ingredient is salted fish sauce, a local analogue of soy sauce. Many recipes include coconut milk. However, finding this exotic is no longer a problem in our stores.

Thai cuisine is unthinkable without soup, Tom Yam spicy shrimp soup is especially popular. This dish is really worth a try! And they do not eat it as a first course, but with the rest. However, in Thailand in any restaurant you will immediately bring all the ordered dishes, including dessert.

The basis of any meal, of course, is rice or noodles. A variety of curries are perfect for them. But there are few desserts in Thai cooking, which is not surprising with such an abundance of various fruits.
