Bavarian Sour Cabbage


1 apple
1 large carrot
3 tablespoons of butter,
500 g sour cabbage,
1 teaspoon of caraway seeds (preferably)
4 thick slices of oily ham,
4 frankfurt sausages,
Salt and pepper to taste.

Peel and peel the apple and chop. Peel and chop the carrots. Melt the butter. Put it in a heat-resistant clay or glass dish, add sour cabbage, chopped apple and carrots, caraway seeds, salt and pepper, mix thoroughly. Put sliced ​​ham on top and cover the dishes. Bake in an oven at moderate heat for 40 minutes.

Remove the lid, put the sausages on top and put in the oven for another 15 minutes. Serve sausages in the same bowl in which you cooked them, or put them on a heated dish, placing sausages and sliced ​​ham on top of the cabbage.
